Quantum Visualizer Supported Browsers for Web Apps
The following table specifies browsers that are supported by Responsive Desktop Web apps and the SPA platform when an application is built without Legacy JS SDK (for example, if the app is built with CSS3.0 based SDK).
Browser | Version |
---|---|
Safari |
Safari 12.x or later (Only on Mac) |
Chrome |
Chrome 72.x or later |
Firefox |
Firefox 66.x or later (Only for Responsive Desktop Web) |
Opera |
Opera 60 or later (Only for Responsive Desktop Web) |
Edge |
Edge 80.0.461 or later |
NOTE:
- Desktop Web is now a legacy channel and replaced by the Responsive Desktop Web channel.
- The Desktop Web Channel does not support browser compatibility mode feature.
- Microsoft has introduced Edge as their default browser and deprecated the Internet Explorer (IE) browser. Therefore, the Quantum Fabric Console does not support IE.
- For Responsive Desktop Web Apps that are built with the Legacy JS SDK, the IE11 browser is supported by default.
- Internet Explorer 11 is supported by the Mobile SPA channel only on Windows devices.
- The SPA platform only supports browsers that are compatible with HTML5.
Additional Considerations
- Support for JavaScript on devices directly depends on the JavaScript engines that are embedded in the browsers. Quantum Visualizer supports CSS3. Based on the browser implementation, the rendering of the CSS can be different for the same browser on different devices.
- Quantum Visualizer uses the standards-compliant GeoLocation API. Support for GPS depends on the GeoLocation API that is implemented by the browsers.
- Quantum Visualizer depends on Google Maps to provide static and interactive maps. Apps that use Google Maps must comply with the licensing requirements of Google.
- Only WebKit-based browsers are supported for the server-side mobile web and SPA HTML5 category.
Firefox and Opera are not WebKit-based. Therefore, they are not supported by SPA but are supported by Desktop Web.
